The two sisters

AbstractFlower125x125 This tutorial will show you how to make a dreamy effect from your photos. Most of the steps are simple and easy to follow

Before we begin, let's see the final result:

TheTwoSisters11

Now let's begin!

First, search for a nice background somewhere. I use this one

TheTwoSisters1

And look for a model on the Internet

TheTwoSisters2

Open these two files with Photoshop. Before cutting the model out, we need to make some color adjustments. Select the model file first, press Ctrl-J to duplicate the Background layer. Go to Image>Adjustments>Color Balance and use these settings:

TheTwoSisters3

Change the Blending mode of this layer to Screen, we will get a brighter photo

TheTwoSisters4

Press Ctrl-E to merge down this layer. Go to Filter>Extract, set the brush size to 10 and tick on the Smart Highlighting check box (this will make our trace stick on the model's edges). Use the Edge Highlighter Tool to draw a closed area that wraps our model, then select the Fill Tool and click on any place inside that closed area to fill it. If you make any mistake then the Eraser Tool will surely helpful

 TheTwoSisters5

Click OK when you feel satisfied, here is what we get

TheTwoSisters6

Now select this model and place her onto our background

TheTwoSisters8

Change the Blending mode to Overlay

TheTwoSisters9

You can make the model sharper by pressing Ctrl-J to duplicate this layer, then press Ctrl-E to merge it down

Press Ctrl-J to duplicate this layer again then go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal and move the model to the left

TheTwoSisters10

Now we had two sisters, use the brush tool to decorate some more and we get

TheTwoSisters11

You can add more elements to the image, like some leaves or butterflies to make your photo more lively and lovely

Its not really about skill in this one, more of just pressing buttons rather
than being creative; seeing that you only got 2 images and made them have a
different layer blend on them.

Just my opinion.
