Love in the sunshine
237Loveinthesunshine125x125 In this tutorial you will learn how to create a simple sunshine scene and use the Brush tool to make effects on it

Before we begin, let's have a look at the final result

237Loveinthesunshine16

Step 1: First open a new document and make a gradient background with the Gradient Tool. Set your parameters as the image below

237Loveinthesunshine1

Draw a straight line from top to bottom, we should get:

Step 2: Now we will make a sketch of a grassy hill . Create a new layer and use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to draw an ellipse and fill it with any color you like

237Loveinthesunshine2

Make another "hill" layer and put it under your first one

237Loveinthesunshine3

Step 3: Use the same technique as step 2 to draw the Sun (hold Shift while drawing with the Elliptical Marquee Tool will create a circle). Fill the Sun with white and apply Outer Glow effect

Here is what we should get:

Step 4: Next we will make the sunbeam. Use the Pen Tool and make a closed shape, right click and select Make Selection. On a new layer, fill it with White and apply Outer Glow as we did with the Sun

237Loveinthesunshine6

Repeat this step several times (you should create each sunbeam on a new layer) until we get

237Loveinthesunshine8

Step 5: Group these sunbeams by select all "sunbeam" layers and press Ctrl-G. Apply a Layer Mask on this group and use the Gradient Tool to fill it with radial gradient option

237Loveinthesunshine9

Now we should get a nice background with the Sun glowing

237Loveinthesunshine10

Step 6: Next add a couple on this scene, you can use any picture you want and cut them out, here is the picture I use, download it here

237Loveinthesunshine11

Cut them out and place onto our document

237Loveinthesunshine12

Step 7: Now use the Brush Tool, pick up a grass shape and start to draw (of course on a new layer), use the hill as a guideline until you get something like this:

237Loveinthesunshine12b

Step 8: Our picture is nearly completed, just need to add some romantic leaves on but first you have to set up some Brush parameters. Go to Window > Brushes and use these settings:

Now draw as you like, let's see the final result once more time:

The tutorial is now finished!
